Initial Surgery Consultation Melbourne

What to expect at your initial consultation

We aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible from beginning to end, starting with your initial consultation.

We look forward to welcoming you at your first consultation. To make the entire journey as successful as possible, A/Prof. James Lee aims to provide you, the patient, with substantial education and keep you involved in the decision-making process.

Once you have scheduled your consultation, it is time to start preparing.

What to bring

To ensure that your appointment runs smoothly, please bring the following to your consultation:

  • Referral letter from your GP or Specialist (if not previously provided)
  • Medicare, Private Health Insurance and applicable Pension cards
  • Any relevant results, including blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound, nuclear medicine scans, etc.
  • Details of your current medications (including herbal medications and supplements)
  • A list of questions, if you have them, so you don’t forget on the day

Costs

As this is a private specialist practice, the costs for the services provided are not fully covered by Medicare or private insurance rebates. We generally do not bulk bill, however, we offer discounted rates for pension card holders. DVA, TAC and approved WorkCover accounts will be invoiced directly to the third party on your behalf.

Consultation fees must be paid at the time of consultation. You will be informed of the consultation fee when you make your first appointment. Payment can be made by cash or EFTPOS (credit / debit cards only).

See you at the practice!

Should you require further treatment following your consultation we will ensure you are fully informed of the associated costs and will ensure the smooth running of your future bookings.

Again, we look forward to seeing you at your consultation and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or concerns.
